Rajasthan Govt disburses Rs 7.5 cr to 30,000 beneficiaries under Lado Protsahan Yojana

The Rajasthan government has released the first instalment to the beneficiaries of the Lado Protsahan Yojana on March 26, 2025. A total of Rs 7.5 crore has been disbursed to the accounts of 30,000 beneficiaries, the state government said. The first instalment amount was Rs 2,500.

The Rajasthan government last year revamped the previously known ‘Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana’ to ‘Lado Protsahan Yojana’ and increased the benefit amount to Rs 1 lakh from initial Rs 50,000. The state government in March 2025 further increased the benefit amount to Rs 1.5 lakh under the Lado Protsahan yojana. The scheme had benefitted 1.77 lakh girl children in the state till March 2025, before the new version becomes applicable from April 01, 2025.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma disbursed the first instalment under revamped Lado Protsahan yojana during his state-wide visits amid celebration of Rajasthan day between March 25-31, 2025.

The Lado Protsahan yojana is aimed at promoting the birth and education of girl children in the state by providing a financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh in seven instalments. The first instalment will be deposited into the bank account of the girl’s parents or guardian while the final instalment will be deposited into the bank account of the girl once she reaches 21 years of age and graduates. Timeline of distribution of funds

  • First instalment of Rs 5,000 will be given at the girl child’s birth.
  • Second instalment of Rs 5,000 will be provided after 1 year of birth and receiving vaccinations
  • Third instalment of Rs 10,000 will be given upon school admission
  • Fourth instalment of Rs 15,000 will be given upon admission to class 6
  • Fifth instalment of Rs 20,000 will be given upon admission to class 10
  • Sixth instalment of Rs 25,000 will be given upon admission to class 12
  • And the final and seventh instalment of Rs 70,000 will be given upon graduating and reaching 21 years of age.

How is eligibility determined?

  • The girl’s mother must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan
  • The girl child should be born on or after August 01, 2024.
  • The birth of the girl child should occur in a government or government-approved private hospital.

Documents required:

The scheme does not require submission of many documents. Only the proof of residence, birth certificate of the girl child are enough along with the bank account details of the parents/guardian to receive the funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Application process:

The application process is offline only and there is no registration fee. The pregnant woman who want to avail the benefits of Lado Protsahan yojana for their girl child should submit the required documents along with the residence proof and bank accounts details to the Department of Women and Child Development under the Directorate of Women Empowerment.

Upon verification of birth in the approved hospital, the first instalment will be released to the registered bank accounts of the child’s parents/guardian. The subsequent instalments will also be deposited to the beneficiary’s account upon meeting the specified conditions of age and education.
